A. Adjective + Preposition
- Sık kullanılan sıfatların pek çoğundan sonra edat (preposition) kullanılması gerekir.

• He is terrible at cooking. (Yemek pişirmede berbat.)
• We are good at speaking English. (İngilizce konuşmada iyiyiz.)
• They are angry with Jack. (Jack’e kızgınlar.)
• My father is worried about Jack. (Babam, Jack için endişeli.)
• My friends are scared of Jack. (Arkadaşlarım Jack’ten korkuyorlar.)

C. Sequence Words
Bir olay veya hikâyeyi anlatırken cümleler arasında zaman bağlantısı kurmak için bazı geçiş
sözcükleri kullanılır. Bu sözcüklere sıralama sözcükleri (sequence words) denir.
first : önce, ilk after that ondan sonra
first of ali : en başta, ilk önce then : sonra; o zaman
next : sonra finally : son olarak, sonunda
later : daha sonra
• First, I take a shower. Then, I get dressed. After that, I have breakfast.
Next, I brush my teeth. Finally, I get into my car and go to work.
D. Would Like & Want - Would like ve want, “istemek” anlamına gelen sözcüklerdir, ikisi de isimlerle veya fiillerle
kullanılabilir.
• I want a book. • I want to buy a book.
• I would like a book. • I would like to buy a book. - Would like şu şekilde kısaltılabilir:
• I would like a book.
• We would like a dictionary.
• They would like to leave now.
I’d like a book.
We’d like a dictionary.
They’d like to leave now. - Would like tüm öznelerle aynı şekilde kullanılır.
• I would like a book.
• He would like a book.
• You would like to play a game.
• The boy would like to play a game.
Want, diğer fiiller gibi özneye göre farklılık gösterir.
I want a book.
He wants a book.
You want to play a game.
The boy wants to play a game. - Olumsuz cümlelerde ve sorularda da kullanımları farklıdır.
• I would not (wouldn’t) like to go there.
• She wouldn’t like to stay here.
• Would you like to talk to them?
• Would she like to help them?
