An adjective tells you about a noun (people or things):

They go before nouns

A big house

A new bike

An old chair

A white T-shirt

An adjective can come in three forms:   

Positive adjective: strong

Comparative adjective: stronger

Superlative adjective: strongest

Short adjectives (one-syllable) add:   -(e)r    old – older – oldest 

and    -(e)st   nice – nicer – nicest
